#ORGULLOSXS25: PRIDE IN ACTION

ree

This June, we celebrated with pride, memory, and action.

Our campaign, #ORGULLOSXS25, was more than just a set of events—it was an open invitation to walk together, raise awareness about our ongoing struggles, and create safe, inclusive spaces for all identities.

This year, we stayed rooted in our three guiding pillars: awareness, education, and empowerment. With that in mind, we joined forces with Efraín Soria from Fundación Ecuatoriana Equidad to host a powerful series of community conversations—spaces designed specifically for the LGBTIQ+ community to learn, reflect, and connect.

These conversations addressed pressing gaps in access to inclusive education and safe dialogue on identity, health, and political participation.

1rst Panel: Gender Affirmation – What It Is and Why It Matters

Addressing the lack of accessible and inclusive spaces to discuss identity and mental health

We explored the concept of gender affirmation, the importance of supportive environments, and how legal, medical, and emotional dimensions come together in the lives of trans and nonbinary individuals.

“Understanding affirmation is part of building a world where trans lives are not just respected—but celebrated.”

2nd Panel: No Myths, No Silence – Sexual Health in Our Community

Tackling misinformation and silence around sexual health in LGBTIQ+ spaces

We broke down myths, answered questions, and created a welcoming space for honest dialogue around sexual health, rights, and access to inclusive care.

“Talking openly about our health is an act of resistance—and of love.”

3rd Panel: From Resistance to Representation – LGBTIQ+ Political Participation

Responding to the lack of information and representation in political spaces across Ecuador and Latin America

We discussed the importance of active political participation by LGBTIQ+ individuals and allies, reflecting on real-life experiences of resistance and representation. The talk highlighted the urgent need for inclusion in political discourse and leadership.

“We are not just fighting to exist—we are building movements to lead.”

These panels reminded us that pride is not just about celebration—it's about transformation. We’re proud to have created spaces where our community could feel seen, heard, and valued. And this is just the beginning.
