LipSync 4 UR Health: The Perfect Fusion of Drag Art and Health

On March 23, 2024, at the prominent Hotel Selina Quito, Tru Relief hosted an evening of art, talent, and health education that left a lasting impression on all attendees. The event, known as LipSync 4 UR Health, was not only an entertainment spectacle but also the catalyst for a vibrant and committed sexual health campaign for the LGBTQ+ community that will resonate throughout 2024. 

LipSync 4 UR Health marked the beginning of our annual health campaign in collaboration with our partners at the Ecuatoriana Equidad Foundation and Hope & Help, an alliance was formed  aimed at raising awareness about the importance of sexual health and well-being in our community both in the United States and Ecuador. This event was much more than a simple community outreach event; it was a platform for artistic expression, diversity, inclusion, education and awareness. 

The stage was illuminated with the talent of six renowned Ecuadorian drag queens: Sasha Maximoff, Memotecnica, Lady Kolly, Lindura, Catarsys, and Brianna Pooh. Each of these artists brought their  own unique style and overflowing charisma to the LipSync 4 UR Health night. Through three electrifying rounds of lip sync performances, these artists delighted the audience with masterful interpretations of iconic songs. From timeless classics like "Like a Virgin" to modern anthems like "Bad Romance" and "S&M," each performance was a masterpiece of creativity and talent. 

The event also featured an excellent judging panel composed of Karen Montero, ELLE, Paula Hula Lá, Bambi Veliz, and Larry Caí Freesoul. These experts in the world of art and entertainment brought their experience and judgment to further enrich this experience. 

The success of the event was reflected not only in the quality of the show but also in the enthusiastic and overwhelming response from attendees. The venue was filled with people who came not only to enjoy the spectacle but also to support a noble and urgent cause: promoting health and well-being in our community. 

In addition to the exciting lip sync battle, there were opportunities for interaction and awareness through informative and dynamic interventions on sexual health and well-being that attracted those seeking information.
